BOARD OF DIRECTORS of Cities of Peace, Inc. expanded by two stellar individuals. In addition to conveying the many suggestions provided by leaders of Cities of Peace, I nominated two new Board Members. In our endeavor to build a "Working Board" of committed and talented volunteers, Ms. Nikki de Pina and Mr. Lonnie Franks were elected for three year terms of service to support you as leaders and peace as the next phase in our evolution. Nikki has been a tremendous asset by taking on the very important role as Outreach Coordinator -- and has done a wonderful job! Lonnie is a consummate business strategist with deep experience in accounting, software and systems. A brief bio of each is included on our website and with this posting next to their photos. Thank you Nikki and Lonnie for your service now and in the future. Onward!

This video was directed and sent to me by Zhang Jianjun, co-leader of the International City of Peace in Nanjing, China. Yesterday was the 35th Anniversary of the establishment of the Memorial Hall for the Victims of the Nanjing Massacre. The Massacre in 1937 by Japanese invaders resulted in the brutal death of hundreds of thousands in Nanjing. This national trauma is core to understanding how important peace is to the Chinese people, much like people who have suffered around the world. Yes, there are deep, deep challenges in China but the City of Nanjing is using the International Cities of Peace platform to move the country from trauma into healing. We send these peacemakers greetings in the hope that peace will prevail. Safety, prosperity and quality of life for ALL people in the world!

City of Peace LEADERS from around the world are making a huge difference to reduce the dangerous effects of Covid-19 in their communities. I receive amazing stories every day, and I want to commend all of our leaders in 62 countries. This morning, I received word from leader Rani Paetel of South Delhi, India: City of Peace: “During the early days of the pandemic, over the past three months, the AAROHAN organization has provided food, rations and other help to over 250,000 people including those living in Bhatti mines, a poverty ridden part of Delhi, barely 20 km from the Parliament building, where even basic utilities like water, power are a rarity. With a commitment of helping 500+ people across Delhi and NCR on daily basis, AAROHAN has helped the Daily Wage Labour in the slums of Malviya Nagar and the Transgender community in Sultanpuri.” NEWS: On August 15, AAROHAN is organizing an event with the migrants from Pakistan under the banner of International Cities of peace. Thank you Rani!
